There are currently no digital audiobook services for libraries that are compatible with Apple products. There are commercial products that are available for Apple users, such as Audible.com, iTunes and eMusic. They offer accounts for individuals to purchase their downloadable audiobooks. They do not have a platform for libraries to provide free digital audiobooks to lend to patrons.

We are continually searching for services that can be used by all patrons (Mac and PC users alike). We are very interested in adding Apple-compatible services.

At this time, no services are available that allow us to lend MP3-format downloadable audiobooks for Mac and iPod use. We anticipate they will start becoming available within the next year, due to overwhelming demand. Although most publishers won't allow their books to be distributed in MP3 format through libraries, we do plan to purchase this format as soon as it becomes available to us.
